Empowerment Circles Initiative
"Inspiring Change, Empowering Communities"
The Empowerment Circles Initiative, led by GRACE, is a transformative and sustainable project focused on addressing the critical challenges faced by underserved communities in Ghana, particularly among youth and women. With nearly 20% of youth unemployed and 33% underemployed, this initiative will provide long-term solutions through vocational training, business development, and community empowerment.
Ghana faces significant socio-economic challenges that disproportionately affect rural and underserved communities. Key issues include high youth unemployment, gender disparity in economic participation, limited access to vocational training, and underemployment. These factors perpetuate poverty and hinder national development.
Why is it crucial to address?
Youth Unemployment:
Nearly 20% of Ghanaian youth are neither in education, employment, nor training (NEET).
Underemployment:
One-third of the workforce is underemployed, highlighting a lack of access to meaningful work.
Gender Disparities:
Women face systemic barriers to entrepreneurship, with only a small percentage accessing mentorship, capital, and formal training.
Skills Gap:
Limited educational and vocational training opportunities in rural Ghana prevent economic mobility.
Without intervention, these challenges will deepen inequalities, leaving communities in a perpetual cycle of dependence on external aid.
Nearly 20% of Ghanaian youth are neither in education, employment, nor training (NEET).
